The Thaw Chronicles

In a new world isolated by a rising, toxic sea, a single bridge connects Askala to the Outlands. Those who remain will need to pass a Proving to determine if they have the intelligence and heart to champion the future of their broken Earth.

Those who succeed will become Bound, the ones chosen to breed.

Those who fail, are Unbound. Free of responsibility, but robbed of their ability to bear children.

Four young lives are born into this world. Magnus and Callix, two brothers determined to uphold this new order. Two brothers in love with the same girl.

Amity, the one who must make the impossible choice.

And Mercy, the girl who no one sees, but sees it all.

As a new threat to Askala emerges, secrets will be revealed and the fight for survival will become their biggest challenge yet.

Life is fragile. Love will refuse to be denied.

Sacrifice will be inevitable.

Four tests. Seven days. Nine teens.

Only the chosen shall breed

Humans now live in a super greenhouse. Seas have risen. Oceans have acidified. And the fight for resources is deadly. To ensure nothing of this magnitude ever happens again, only those with enough intelligence and heart will earn the right to bear children and heal the earth.

Twelve teens must face the tests of the Proving to decide who will be Bound to this new order. Four of them will challenge the system in ways even they can’t imagine.

Nova. The gentle soul who has everything to lose.

Kian. The champion of this new world who’s determined to succeed.

Dex. The one who'll learn nothing is as it seems.

Wren. The rebel who wants nothing to do with any of it.

As the fight to breed becomes a fight to survive, rules are broken, and hearts are captured. This Proving won’t just decide the future of this new order, it will decide the future of humankind.

Only the chosen shall breed.

Four teens must face the fallout of the Proving. Three have made it through. One has not.

Nova. Kian. Dex. Wren.

Four lives defined by the outcome. Four lives who thought the Proving was the most difficult test they would ever have to face.

They all assumed Askala was safe, but a link to the Outlands has been established and a Remnant invasion is now a threat. In a starving, damaged world, Askala has what others want.

Except the fight for survival is far more complicated than right or wrong, or us and them. It's about humanity versus Earth.

As bonds are fractured and new connections are forged, the question becomes - how do you fight for your world, but also your heart?

Only the chosen shall breed.

Nova, Kian, Dex, and Wren.

Four divided hearts. Four teens no longer sure what they’re fighting for.

Their society was meant to mold human evolution. Their future, and that of Earth, was to be decided by the kindest and smartest. Askala was supposed to be a beacon of hope in a flooded, desecrated world.

Except the line between the Bound and Unbound is blurring. The Outlands is no longer some distant, faceless world. And the Remnants have a leader who knows more about them than any Remnant before.

In a world devastated by global warming, the fight for survival has always been deadly. Now, the battle for Askala is about to define the very future of humanity.

But...does the greatest threat lie within?

Only the chosen shall breed.

Nova, Kian, Dex, and Wren.

Four teens reunited, only to discover their world has been torn apart.

Askala has been seized by a new order. A cruel army that rules with greed and fear. An army that seems impossible to defeat.

Forced into the forest, the people struggle to survive using all they’ve learned from the harshness of the Outlands. Bound, Unbound and Remnant alike are going to have to create unity in a world founded on division if they are to win.

Will they discover a way to carve a better path for the future? A future about more than just fighting to survive. A future where all can thrive, not just the chosen few.

In the greatest battle for Askala yet, sides will be chosen and loyalty will be tested. Is it possible that love and intelligence were the key all along?

Only the chosen shall seek.

Sea levels have receded, exposing fertile, untouched land. Virgin soil that everyone in a ravaged world is willing to fight for.

Askala knows it needs to stake a claim if they’re going to continue healing the Earth. To do that, a team of Seekers will be sent to colonize it…and assimilate those who don’t understand.

This year, the testing won’t end at the Proving. Passing is no longer just about having a kind heart and a sharp mind. To spread Askala’s word, Seekers also need to survive in this harsh new land. New tests will determine who’s strong and tough enough to be the best of the best.

Sam is determined to prove her father’s vision is what the world needs. Mercy is convinced she’ll be able to win the Outlanders over with her smile. Hawk believes he was destined to be a Seeker, but will his gentle soul be his undoing? Luca knows he’s never fitted in and isn’t about to try.

Who will pass and have the honor of representing Askala? And how will a society founded on peace succeed in a world where violence is power? Four teens are about to find out.

The Seekers have been chosen. The Newlands await.

Four young lives now have to choose where they belong. To choose what and who they will fight for.

Because no matter where they turn, the legacy of the past is inescapable. The Newlands already has settlers. The Outlands has a new leader. And danger has arrived in Askala.

Hawk, Sam, Mercy and Luca must work together or be swept away by a world even more divided than themselves. As the fight for survival becomes a fight for the future, as hearts yearn and secrets are protected, loyalties will be tested.

Can they build a world like nobody has seen before? One where people can unite for the good of Earth?

Or has the war they never wanted already begun?

Only the chosen shall seek.

Sam, Hawk, Luca and Mercy.

Four teens no longer sure what they’re seeking. Four teens no longer sure whether it can be found.

They were supposed to be building a new world. One where the Earth is respected as much as the people who depend on it for survival. One where the benefits of Askala could be shared by all.

Except instead of bringing people together, Sam, Hawk, Luca and Mercy are more divided than ever. Sam has returned to Askala, learning exactly how vulnerable her home is. Hawk is trapped, forced to fight for his life to save those around him. Luca has returned to the Outlands to right his wrongs. Mercy is determined to find out the truth at any cost.

In the struggle to repair the world from the ravages of global warming, the fight to reunite is going to be their greatest battle yet. Because no matter where they are, treachery is far closer than they ever realized.

Living has never been more deadly.

Only the chosen shall seek.

They were meant to bring Askala to the world. Now the war is coming to Askala.

Sam, Hawk, Luca and Mercy must return home to protect the society they were bred to champion. But how do they defend peace loving Askala from the greatest threat yet?

As secrets are revealed and loyalties are tested, everyone will be forced to question who is friend and who is foe. The Commander is far more dangerous than anyone realized. The Outlanders are divided about whose side they’re really on. And Askala is unprepared for an attack.

In the ocean separating the two worlds, the final battle will decide the future of not only Askala, but who will control the Newlands. Sam, Hawk, Luca and Mercy will have to accomplish the impossible—unity.

The Outlands are a deadly place to grow up. In a world devastated by global warming, resources are scarce. Humanity and kindness are even scarcer. The struggle to survive is a deadly war. And a bitter one.

Because great riches lie just over the waters. There’s one place that has everything the Outlanders could ever want.

But to seize power, they’ll need to unite the factions. And choose a leader. Only the strongest will succeed. The one person who can do what needs to be done—attack Askala and share in their riches.

The Tournaments are announced. Deadly games where there can be only one winner.

No one expects siblings to enter…let alone two sets of twins.

Lexis and Raze. Born to rule, trained to win.

Winter and Gray. Born to poverty, expected to lose.

In a world where survival comes first, there’s no room for mercy. Loyalty. Or love. And yet four teens are going to have to choose what matters most.

BOOK 10

Only the strongest will lead

The deadly Tournaments are over. A new leader of the Outlands has been chosen.

To hold onto power and seize the riches that lie in Askala, the new Commander must earn respect and build an army. But how can control be taken when everything has fallen apart?

In a harsh world of lies, secrets and brutal betrayals, challenges will be made and rules will be broken. The Commander will need to discover if the real war is against the dying planet or if it’s against the people themselves.

A new war has begun. Askala is the prize. Only the strongest will lead.

BOOK 11

Five trials to prove your worth. Two teens with everything to lose. One chance to escape.

In a world ravaged by global warming, an unconventional leader plans to sail away and start again in a mythical place known as Tomorrow Land. He’s decided to take one hundred young lives with him…if they pass a series of tests.

Fyve’s grown up in the poverty and violence molded by environmental and economic collapse. Passing is his only ticket to escape a life of starvation and struggle. But it also means leaving his family, the ones he’s spent his life protecting.

Halo is the daughter of the leader, and she’s determined to compete in the Trials just like everyone else. As the tests become more deadly with each one that passes, she questions if the future she yearns for is worth it. Especially if Fyve is adamant he won’t set foot on the ship her father has promised will arrive.

As the fight to leave becomes the fight to survive, as passing the Trials means leaving behind everything and everyone they love, Fyve and Halo are about to discover that being chosen comes at a price.

A hundred teens. A thousand broken promises. A future built on lies.

Fyve and Halo passed The Oasis Trials and boarded the promised ship, alongside a hundred teens carefully chosen by the mythical force known as Terra. They expect to sail to Tomorrow Land—a place where food is plentiful and opportunities abound. What they don’t expect is to meet Terra herself…

As danger winds its way through the decaying ship, Fyve and Halo must try to put together the pieces of the most complex puzzle they’ve encountered yet. How is Terra managing to control things that can’t possibly be controlled? Why are people disappearing, and where are they being taken? And what’s in the secret section of the ship that Fyve and Halo were never meant to discover?

As the search for tomorrow becomes a quest to make sense of today, Fyve and Halo will need to draw on their strengths to get one step ahead of a power who’s been manipulating them all along.

BOOK 13

A doomed ship. An explosion of lies. One last Oasis.

Fyve and Halo have never felt more vulnerable than when The Oasis becomes lost at sea. The ship was supposed to be a beacon of hope, a way to reach Tomorrow Land. But war is breaking out within its confines. Terra was never who they thought she was. And now the ship itself is dying.

With no food, water, or fuel to power the ship, the search for Tomorrow Land has become futile. And now deadly. As lie upon lie is uncovered, they begin to wonder if the mysterious land they’ve been searching for even exists.

When the sky turns black and a storm threatens, Fyve and Halo must face one final battle. The future they were promised may not exist, but there’s something more important to fight for…the truth.
